R9 290x or GTX 970 for triple gaming

I recently bought MSI Twin frozr R9 290x for triple monitor gaming.

But I have second thoughts about Twin Frozr GTX 970(although people in the shop told me that 290x is better for high resolution gaming than gtx 970), which is $ 20 more in my country.

Should I return 290x and get a gtx 970?

(Also is there any difference in 4k codecs of 970 and 290x?)

970 is a bit faster but it is not worth the upgrade

They were correct the 290x performs better in higher resolutions mainly due to the larger memory bus

I would rather keep the R9 290X and, if you can, get another one, for better framerates ;)
