Look what my 2 year old cousin found..

Zambonie

My family is down here from up north, with my baby cousin.

He went roaming around the house, and brought me a CPU. Out of no where. I don't know where it was, or that I even had one lying around..

For sure I know its a AMD CPU, I just don't know what it exactly is.

Ofc, it was my 2 yo cousin who was playing with it, so he bent the pins.

As you can see, it has bent pins ( ): ) and it has some dry thermal paste left on it.

I'll go ahead and get some materials to clean off the thermal paste, if I have any.

Though, I'm wondering if anyone might know what model it exactly is, from the look of it.

Its before 2010, as you can see "Copyright 200? AMD"

Anyway, I just thought it was funny for my cousin to find a CPU lying around, that I didn't know about.

Now if only we could all find processors and other such delights just littering the floor, we'd all be minted most likely. Or have a lot of keyrings.

What are the odds of just finding CPU's on the ground... I could barely find my socks and he finds CPU's...

I barely can find where I search for my socks... :P

I've found an i5 sitting under my bed before. :|

It was most likely better than my old i5 650 I have in a Dell motherboard lying around.. :/

May I ask? How do you misplace an i5 under your bed?

Found out.

I got a cotton ball (didn't have a microfiber clothe around, just cotton balls.) and 91% isopropyl alcohol.

It's a 2001 AMD Sempron.

Replaced it with a CPU that wasn't bricked on arrival. I put it on a necklace.

Nice find, what are you gonna do with it now?

Who knows.. :P

It has bent pins, so it would be a little hard to build a computer out of that.

It probably isn't worth to much right now to sell.

I'll probably keep on my display shelf and see what I can do with it in the future.

Lol.

Also, TBH this is the first time I've ever held a CPU, as I've never build a computer before.. and the pins actually don't seem to be as delicate as other people say.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, hope that he did not pull it off a computer you had lying around otherwise that'll be unusable

Use a small amount of methelayted spirts on a piece of paper towel to clean the top of it, you should be able to tell what model it is then.

Edit: just had the clean CPU image show up, miss posted :P

Keyrings are more likely.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Found out it came from a old computer my dad dis-assembled, I think I still remember that piece of junk PC.

Also looking at the pins though, they are more bent then I though they where. Some pins are bent even in the middle of the CPU, that would be hard to bend for a 2 year old unless he actually tries purposely to get his tiny nails and fingers in the middle of the CPU and bend them.

Anyways. I'll hold onto the CPU for.. why not.

Oh don't we all wish we can live with him.

Not gonna happen.
