Best Graphics card for $300?

What would be the best graphics card for less than $300?? I have a 4690k and plan to overclock it. 

Upcoming build: 

CPU: 'Devil's Canyon' Core i5 4690K Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 GPU: ASUS STRIX-GTX970 4GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2x4GB) 1866Mhz Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB & 2x WD Green 4TB Cooling: Corsair H105 PSU: CoolerMaster V550S Case: Corsair Carbide Series Air 240 in BLAACK Extra: ASUS PCE-AC68 802.11ac Dual Band Wireless Monitor: ASUS VX238H 23.6"

Total Cost: $2,759.45 NZD

Seeing it is as you live in NZ, a AMD Radeon R9 270 or a R9 270X would be your best option.

Until the GTX 960 is released, your best bet would be, what other members are saying here, the AMD R9 270/270X. :)

For your price the R9 270 is probably best, just like what everyone else is saying.

How much does an extra 2gb of GPU ram affect performace. I've found a 270X 2gb for $299.95 or 4gb for $349.95

There's no difference between the two other than one has more VRAM than the other, might as well go with the 4GB one.

i would go with a gtx 970 instead of a 4gb 270x
