PC Build, CPU?

Go to solution Solved by Deletive,

It would not be better to go with AMD. if anything just upgrade to a i7 xeon (xeon with hyper threading eg. 1230v3) .

Hey guys,

Im building a PC on an AUD budget of 1600. I currently have a intel 15 4460 as my CPU but was wondering if it would be better to go with an AMD? I have a GTX 970 Graphics card and 8 gigs of ram. THis pc will be used for gaming, but also minimal video editing and photoshop.

I love AMD, but intel is your best option. I would get another 970 for sli then maybe a better intel processor and overclock it

Amd CPUs aren't very strong. The 9590 is the strongest chip they got and the i7-4770k beats it.

Absolutely! The CPU also has a max turbo boost of 20GHz. Quite an amazing CPU. The RAM, well, being DDR5, runs @ 7444MHz. Quite mind blowing...really! :P
