Logitech G710+ Mechanical Keyboard

Today I just purchased the not so new keyboard because it was on sale. 

Rather than talking about the features and all the bells and whistles ( because you can obviously find that out on Linus's video ), I will take about my experience with the keyboard.

 

First off, the o rings make the keyboard feel extremely mushy. They keys felt like they were membrane keys, rather than actual mechanical switches. I took out every keycap and removed the rings. These rings will never come back. Overall it feels great. To refute Beyonce, I like it but will not put a ring on it. 

 

The cherry mx brown feels amazing. They are extremely responsive and feels very light to press. The only draw back with light keys on my hand is that I might be accidentally pressing another key. I did not feel a dramatic change from the reds to browns. IDK its just me. The layout of the keyboard is nice. No sins have been committed because of the correct qwerty layout. Long shift, back and proper enter. Not sure if it is just mine but when I press shift with my  ring  finger , it it feels like I haven't buttomed out and that it wouldn't let me go further. 

 

The lighting on this keyboard isn't that special as it only has four brightness level. The LEDs are white but I was hoping that Logitech put blue or red rather than pure white. ( Personal preference ).

 

The wrist rest that came with the keyboard did not help with my typing experience. I was better off without the wrist rest. It made my hand fall and slide down. Hoped it had rubber coating and bumpy surfaces like the wrist rest from the k70.

 

On to media keys and what not. There are media keys that aren't part of the F keys. Those keys however are not mechanical though. With these keys you can press play, pause, fast forward backwards  mmute and a audio scroll wheel. 

 

For the price ninety dollars after tax, I am glad to sasy that this keyboard is worth the investment. This gaming keyboard is great and unique among the other keyboards. The included o rings are a nice feature however it would've been nice if there was a seperate model that does not have any o rings included. The media keys are nice so I don't have to press function f4 f2 , etyc .

i'd love to get this keyboard, but sadly a gpu is more of a focus for me than a new keyboard...

I forgot to mention that the g710+ has macro keys and you can have three profiles for each macro key. 

 

Feature wise, the k70 just lacks the macro keys. However in terms of lighting, on the k70 you can have any key lighted. Not sure about the g710+ though. I did not download the software. The k70 comes in red blue or brown where as the g710+ comes in brown and there is a blue version that is just a g710 without o rings....  

 

Build quality of both keyboards are amazing however logitech's keyboard is plastic where as corsair's is made with an aluminium plate. 

 

If you try to buy the g710+ at regular price which is 149.99 before tax, you could probably use that money and get the rgb k70s instead

My single color K70 feels nice for me to type on while it took some time to break in / adjust to. There are some issues that I initially had with how the stabilizers under the shift and enter keys but I've since become used to it.

FYI, the G710+ is known for keycaps falling off. It happened to @ZacDaMan72

My new one is fine. The strength or 'seal' of the keycaps to the stem may have affected as I took the o-rings out. If it happens, you should RMA it because you'll get a replacement.

getting one for christmas. ^~^

love brown switches. <3 

 

i had one, but it got stolen. (also the spacebar was broke, and i couldnt RMA it before it got stolen...)

best keyboard ive ever used. ^~^ used blues, used reds, even used blacks and clears, ive tried them all. only brown makes me happy. :3

also mine was pretty damn sturdy..

 

i just wish they had ablue version with brown switches. im planning a blue/pink/white pc and orange jsut screws that all up. :(

I wish they actually put on the box "we use cherry mx keys" or something. When I was looking for my first board a few months ago and went to a shop (we don't get much choice here in the UK) I didn't bother playing with the Logitech boards since I couldn't find on the board or their website that they use cherry keys.

Yeah,.you pretty much have to do your own research. Sometimes they tell you it is mechanical but it can be kaihl or alps or cherry.

Yeah exactly. All Logitech bother to put on their boards is "mechanical" which is useless. Saying cherry is a fricking selling point. <_<
