Looking for Storage replacement

TheGosuStandard

I'm looking for a decent & well built storage solution for a friend that has a budget of around $50 (I would assume the go to choice is a Hard Drive).

If anyone can suggest one that would be awesome.

External or Internal??

If he wants internal just get this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezex

or this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003

But if he wants an external drive then I would go with something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236605

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

I would get a Seagate 1TB hard drive for space, or a 1TB Seagate Backup Plus for external drives. Not really any good SSDs you can get for 50 bucks, but it's worth noting that Best Buy is selling the PNY Optima 120GB SSD for 48.99 on Black Friday.

this is probably the only place i'll hang out anymore: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/274320-the-long-awaited-car-thread/

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

Hi there @TheGosuStandard

Since your friend is looking for an internal HDD I would recommend the WD Green drive because it is designed for storage, quiet operational and has low power consumption. You can check it here if you want: http://goo.gl/B1tYPz

Hope this helps.

Cheers! :)
