industrial fan or nah. Noctua

which one is best industrial Noctua fans 140 version or the regular 140 with "poop brown and vomit tan colors" - Linus 2014

this is for water cooling so it is up against a radiator. ekwb ek-coolstream rad xtc 420 radiator to be more precise.

is there really a big difference in temps?

only difference really is that the industrials spin faster, I would go for the originals as they are quieter and thats what watercooling is all about for me. Between the two though, when running at the same RPM there is no difference in temps.

Just curious, but do the Industrials and Regulars make approximately the same amount of noise when they are both running at the same RPM, or are the industrials always just a hair louder? I haven't gotten to play with the industrials yet.

I was debating and went for the originals. The whole point of getting noctuas IMO is for absolute silence.

I was even talking to a rep from Noctua the other day. He said they don't even have any plans to expand the colors for their fans besides the redux lineup. I'm going to buy some for my new rad but luckily I have room above the rad where they can't be seen LOL.

but is it possible to spray them a different color?

Not really advised as it fucks up the aerodynamics and could cause the blades to become unbalanced. If you want really quiet good looking fans go or noise blocker blacksilent pros or E-loops.

I have both 2000 and 3000 RPM Noctuas. During gaming I find 2000RPM is fine with noise blocking head phones, you only really hear the moment of air. Plus there's no way a poop brown fan would fit in my color scheme.

1500 for me would be too slow, but my ambient temp here is 40℃ (Australian summer).

During idle the PWM gets them down to about 13℅ which is practically inaudible.
