It is almost 50% off and I want a 1440p monitor. Should I get this one? The only thing that concerns me is that the model itself is 2 years old, just seems really old.

It is a great monitor, but it isn't 50% off the normal price, the normal price for it is around $450. I would definitely recommend it to anybody who wants a good 1440p monitor under $500

Doesn't it bother you that it is matte? I feel glossy is better, assuming you don't have sunlight shining on the screen. What do you think?

It's not a really aggressive matte, it's got a bit of gloss to it, especially in comparison to my 24'' dell.

No I prefer matte, glossy IS nice for colours but this monitor is extremely colour accurate, its very vibrant and lovely, the matte coating is one of the least grainy I have seen, you cant seenthe screen like most matte monitors, its lovely
