1440p Monitor for Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, gaming and browsing

RZeroX

  • Will be using the monitor for playing games and recording them then editing them with adobe Premiere

Currency NZD(New Zealand Dollars)

Was looking at the Asus Swift but wasn't sure if it would be good for this as I read this on reddit "As always Linus mentions the colors are good, but forgets to mention WHY the colors are good. TN panels have a reputation for bad color because they use a native 6 bit color depth, the swift uses a high grade TN that has a native 8 bit color depth. This is important info for anyone who writes it off due to IPS preference, if you want something to worry about worry about viewing angles, but it's not like your going to multi monitor the swift anyways." http://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/2d8du9/linus_asus_rog_swift_pg278q_gsync_144hz_1440p/

What monitor would you recommend?

Hello what would you recommend for a 1440P monitor will be mainly gaming and recording gameplay and then editing the gameplay with adobe premiere

Either the BenQ BL2710PT, BenQ GW2765HT or even the ASUS PB278Q if you can afford it.

I'll have links up in a bit. :)

I'd recommend a Korean monitor if you're up for the small risk.

And a risk they are. ;)

Wouldn't really trust them would rather go with a known brand don't think you can even get them in NZ.

Are there any particular shops you prefer to go with or that might be closest to you?

Alright. Well I tried to use PC Part Picker to list some monitors but for some reason it's not really showing any New Zealand shops unfortunately.

Have you thought about going with an ultrawide monitor?

I'm not too sure about ultrawide was thinking about 1440p or ultrawide that's 4k right?

You set your pcpartpicker to New Zealand right? http://nz.pcpartpicker.com

Ah okay. Well technically yes, the 34" ultrawide displays have a resolution of 3440 x 1440. So you could say that it's 4K.

Of course. :)

Yeah, just not for the monitors I were looking at, like the BenQ BL2710PT and the BenQ GW2765HT.

I vote for the BenQ GW2765HT.  It's got low lag, it's a fast and crisp panel, few problems, and you can't go wrong for the price.  There is also the AOC Q2770PQU, and that monitor is essentially a non-glossy version of the GW2765HT, but I think glossy looks better for color.  Matte normally looks more washed out for some reason.

Yeah mate, how's that monitor been going for you? What few problems are we talking about?

It's been going good and the only issue is that there's a tiny bit of bleed in the left corner and middle left, but overall it's not notice-able unless I -look- for it.  I overall like it, and wish I could have two more x3  But instead my next two monitors will likely be some cheap 1080 ips dells, despite my endless want for more BenQ.  That or may just wait for Freesync monitors.  Maybe they'll have an IPS, but overall an amazing monitor and I love the look of Korean monitors, but if there were an issue like -bad- backlight bleed or dead pixels / stuck pixels.. that'd be fun to RMA x.x

Several people have bought the BenQ BL2710PT and been quite happy with it. One of the many great features it has is a flicker-free backlight. Instead of using the usual PWM backlighting, which is cheaper, it uses direct current backlighting and as a result of that you get no flickering that you may see on other monitors, so it's better on your eyes. :)
