$2000 Gaming PC "Future Proofing"

I'm planning out my new PC build with the idea of making it "future proof" in the sense that I dont want to build a rig using the older tech ddr3 etc, now that the next gen is out. Even though it will take awhile before the potential of ddr4 is really realized. Also plan on adding an additional gtx 970 to run in sli down the road but will stick with a single card for now. Plan on OC the cpu hopefully to around 4.6ghz. Please give any advice about parts that you think should be swapped. I know I could get some extra clock out of an evga or msi 970 rather than the Asus, but worried about compatibilty on the bios since most of these parts are brand new.

Partpicker couldn't find my case will be using a:

*WHY DOES NOBODY FOLLOW THEIR THREADS?!?!?

Overall this is decent, but you will really want to upgrade your GPUs later because that cpu is extremely overkill, everything but the GPUs will be good enough for awhile for gaming, but will give much less performance now (spending money on another 970).

@Recon801

Unless you are doing content creation I would seriously consider a 4690k/4790k. A 6 core hyperthreaded cpu and ddr4 is wasted on gaming, and will be for some time yet. Smash a 980 or 2 in there instead.

Uh, yes there is. Just not in every application and for a wide time frame. For example G3258 + H97/Z97 would allow you to upgrade to Broadwell when it comes out.

True in the sense that everything will need to eventually need replacing, but there is such a thing as "future proofing". I'm looking for a rig that will be able to last at least 5-6years with only minor changes or upgrades. Would be pointles to build a rig that had to be totally redone every year or 2.

Same builds I recommended someone earlier. Change anything you want.
