Azio MGK1 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (K70 Look-A-Like)

Crosseyed Sniper

Hey guys, do any of you own this keyboard? If so, how do you like it? Looks nice to me, in fact, it sort of looks like the Corsair K70, but much cheaper. I was considering the K70, but hearing about the problems with LEDs failing have scared me off. I even posted a message on Corsair's forum asking for a rep to confirm if the LED issue had been fixed with the newer versions of the K70, but they never replied to me. So, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Anyway, here's a little more info and video of the keyboard.

Found this on the specs "Mechanical Key Switches (Kailh Blue)"

I dont know what Kailh switches are like. Never heard of them. You might be running a risk, but you can always return it

It uses Kaihl switches and not authentic Cherry MX switches, I would honestly hold off on that keyboard. Besides, only the silver w/ blue LEDs K70 was having LED failures, and since then I think it's been fixed. The gunmetal black w/ red LEDs has no problems, I've had my K70 for over a year and even spilled hot chocolate on it and it still survived (I took it apart and cotton swabbed the PCB w/ alcohol), no dead LEDs whatsoever. Also, Corsair's RMA service is really painless if you ever do run into LED problems.

Yeah, I've never heard of those key switches before. Hell, I've never even heard of the company that makes this keyboard!

By the way, I think Joanne is trying to shoot the keyboard in the video thumbnail! :P

That's exactly why I would stay away from it.

I have a keyboard made by this company lol.

Well, it'll still be as crappy as Corsair's keyboards.

Probably more though, because it uses kailh(?) switches.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I have heard of them before and Linus even mentioned them on the wan show and maybe some other videos. They are just a generic mechanical switch that aren't as popular as Cherry but cheaper. (Depending on the price) this might be a good option to look at for a budget mechanical keyboard and (again depending on price) might think of picking one up myself.

I've heard kaihl switches aren't terrible, but apparently speaking the standards aren't as high they feel different keyboard to keyboard. Imo, I would save up for authentic cherry mx switches.

If you get one, do let us know what you think of it. Only review I've found is Joanne's video review.

Kailh switches are a very close copy of the MX switches internally. The only real difference is the QC, or lack of and the failure rate seems a tad bit higher.

At about $95 with shipping might as well go for a cherry switch keyboard since it shouldn't be too hard to find one with similar features. I was hoping for something closer to $70 or maybe less.

  • 6 months later...

Got one of these for 79$ at Micro Center on sale, I like the feel of the switches and i like the volume roller and mute.. I do not need RGB lighting and i like the white back lighting.

If it last a few years i will consider the purchase a win!
