Yes, LGA1150,1155 and 1156 are identical. The only time the socket size is different between boards on the same socket is 2011

I've noticed the past couple times I've installed a corsair water cooler that the screw sockets on the backplate have the same position for LGA 1156, 1155, and 1150. Is this because the standard backplate mounting position on all mentioned LGAs are in fact the same, and I'd be perfectly safe buying an lga 1155 cooler to install for an lga 1150 board?
