why does everyone hate on consoles not everyone wants to spend the time and some don't have the time to build or maintain a pc I personally have an xbox 360 and an xbox one. and I see nothing wrong with them, yes I also have a pc but i'm not going to hate on someone because they have a different opinion that me the only reason I don't go on these forums very often is because of the people with the "pc master race" mentality and I don't see why. why do most pc gamers have to be elitists? why cant you accept people have different opinions that you? im not saying all pc gamers are, but a good number of them are. can I get an explaination for this?

Consoles have their place. I play on my SHIELD when I just want to relax and have fun. Its hassle free, relaxing fun.

 

 

Also, I just think the loudest PC Gamers tend to be elitists as well. No all PC Gamers are assholes.

People here tend not to hate on consoles. We might do as a joke, but not seriously. 

 

There are literally hundreds of threads across multiple forums about this. 

 

EDIT: You'll also probably find that the PC elitists tend to just be PC gamers, not technology enthusiasts like the users here.

I know that, I enjoy my pc and consoles equally why cant all the gamers just get along? were all playing the same types of games with different names. and ive never seen a console gamer think their better than everyone else after all they are all the same.

yes I have noticed the gamers are the ones that are more commonly like that, im more of a hardware person and I see most other hardware people don't hate as much.

I game PC alot both on my desktop and on my laptop i have a full gaming set up, but not 1ft away from my gaming keyboard and mouse is my xbox 360 hooked up to one of my screens and i love both my gaming computer and my xbox its just that alot of people are one side or the other. they have no idea that they be on both or their own side.

It's mostly because of the way the landscape has changed over the last ten years or so. It used to be that you'd get a console because it had a whole library of exclusives and if you skipped it you'd be missing out on a lot of content. Then starting with the 360 and PS3 and as games got bigger that started to disappear. Now with the XBOne and PS4 there are a small number of exclusives. Of the ten best selling XBOne games only one of them is not on PC, on the PS4 there are only two and it's a similar story with the top games on Metacritic. So instead they try to market themselves as the best place to play CoD or Assassin's Creed and.... they fall short when compared to PC. Simple as that.

 

Now if they were all doing what Nintendo is doing? If they rolled out a whole library of content you'll never see anywhere else that I don't want to miss out on? Then I wouldn't be rolling my eyes as loudly and which platform to get would be a reasonable question. As it is? If you have a PC I don't see what the big deal is, the best option seems to be to just ignore them entirely. If you don't have a PC? Then cool, go ahead, it should be a reasonable gaming experience in the same way that it is on PC.

pcmasterace only states that you accept that pcs are superior. Which, logically, they are. I understand not needing a gaming pc and not being able to afford or maintain one. I don't frown on console gaming and even enjoy it myself. But I would take my computer over my Xbox any day and recognize the advantages of pc gaming such as super cheap and excellent games, as well as budgeting your computer to achieve your desired performance.

You know for PS4/XBOne and especially when it's about multiplatform titles I can kinda understand it. When it's a thread about the Wii U, PSVita or 3DS or when the OP specifically mentions exclusive titles? Then it's a bit rough and not at all helpful. I think sometimes people just have stock replies to threads across the whole community though, people don't read posts. Which is a shame.

yep. I agree here. Boast about some mystical pc master race followed by constant bitching and moaning about games not running well. They do it to themselves. Not a very good selling point.

If a new gamer came here looking to see what was better for them, likely choice would be console. There are literally hundreds of threads of people complaining about pc gaming. Why on earth would one want to join such a negative crowd?

i find one of the biggest things that causes PC people to hate on consoles is when a flame war breaks out for whatever reason. For example if there's a console guy who says "Haha PCs are so bad my console has more power" which is a factually incorrect statement, people feel obligated to jump in to defend the honour of their PC rather than just ignore the ignorant who are looking to cause trouble. 

 

I'm pro PC forever, but if someone knows what a console is and just wants to buy it and play it and never have to worry (kind of like AIO cooling vs full custom loop) who cares. they made an informed decision that's good for them and i feel absolutely neutral about it. People who want to force "no you can't buy that console" or some such are people with issues accepting other people's situations i think, rather than seeing it from their perspective. 

 

the whole console war thing "i bought the best, screw the PC and [insert the opposing console they didn't purchase here]" or "I have a PC screw you idiots who bought consoles" is one of the most insecure and obnoxious things on the internet really. To me at least.

no acutally because I hate people who are obsessed with the idea that oc is so much better and every console thread I read someone says in some way or another that they should have gotten a pc or their less than you.
