Is there a way to change K70 RGB switches?

allindaze

I bottom out the Browns, I'm thinking I need to try Clears.

Has anyone found a way to replace the switches on K70 RGB keyboards? Or is that not even a thing yet? Thanks!

You'd have to solder them on, it's not something you can swap out easily.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

I'm not 100% sure on this but i think they are just like others for replacing, i think the RGB bit is just surrounding the key switch

I don't see why bottoming out is an issue.

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

although I have not seen it done with the rgb switches assuming they are the same internally as the old switches you would have to desolder the switches then open them and replace the internals with clear switch internal parts then resolder them back into place.

Or you could go the super cheap and inexpensive route of simply purchasing o rings instead, this should dampen the bottoming out considerably.

Oh yeah I forgot about O-rings, has anyone had any success with installing them on RGB keys?

I don't like the feel of it. I feel like they're too light and I'm not getting a satisfactory sensation when typing on them.

Maybe I'm just crazy.

Orings should work on any cherry keycap although could effect the light that shines through the cap not sure how transparent the caps are or if they really are at all.

Its not that odd to dislike a switch for one reason or another
