Audio Technica headphones

Mickster

At the moment I am most likely going to be getting a Audio-Technica ATH-AD500X and a desk mic for the time being, but I am wondering if it is work the extra money getting a 700x? Also does anyone have ATH-AD500X, or something similar that they can vouch for?

I'm pretty sure Tyler from Mayflower Electronics and Logan did a video today and they said that sound wise the 500X sounds the same as the 700X, and the 900X sounds a bit better

Yes, watch the new video by TekSyndicate, very informative about headphones.

They're like cheating for games.

I hate headphone manufacturers selling snake oil 5.1 and 7.1 marketing terms. Well designed open backed headphones are what you want.

I've had both the 500x and 700x and they do indeed sound the same. The cable on my 700x was slightly less coiled, but not enough to be a non-nuisance.
