Intel HD Graphics to GTX 970

hummerh1

A decently built B18C5 can do low 14s if not 14 flat in the quarter mile whereas a V10 M5 gets high 12s to 13 flat. Not that huge of a difference.

Ah. Good point.

Been a fan of hondas for a while.

Eric S. Raymond used an E6600 from 2005 until 12/30/14 or open source software creation. Raw data computations in excess of 18GB each. Core 2 Duos still have tons of life left, my friend.

I used to be a big Honda fan as well, I had a first-gen CR-V with a GSR B18C1 head, so DOHC and VTEC. It was really fun but was rear ended and an upgrade was due, so now I'm now more of a Ford fanboy for cars more then ten years old, but for older then that I'm still a big Honda person. Too bad there isn't really anything I can do to my daily driver J35A.

Hi everyone, I am going to order a Gigabyte G1 gaming 970 and would like to know how much of a difference I will notice coming from a PC using only the Intel HD graphics from the CPU for gaming? I have never owned or used a PC with an actual graphics card....LOL ). Will I notice a huge improvement? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm new to PC gaming.

I was using the intel hd4600 from September to 8th November when i got my 980, Yes it's more powerful than a 970  but it is amazing doing such a huge jump and you will feel the same with your 970 trust me.

Soooo, all car analogies and 970 praising out of the way. What system will you put it in.

Is it some pre-built machine? Does it even have the proper prerequisites for the 970? Power Supply, fast enough CPU, room in the case.

Right now, we know nothing of your system. Nor do you have it in your sig or profile.

Why has noone else asked this question?

Solid build you have there, Have you considered the WD 3TB Green drives? They're pretty damn cheap.

Yes, however I read numerous reviews saying Blue's are the sweet spot between performance and silence. Plus, who needs 3TB anyway  :P It's all cloud storage these days for me LOL

My steam library of ~200 games is about 50% downloaded so far, I've used up my 1TB Blue and my 120GB SSD (with OS & Key games).

I need 3TB.

So... you don't have the PC yet. Why the stark comparisson between HD and 970? You were never intending to use it.

I went from a 4870 512mb to a GTX 480 1536mb... was a CRAZZZZZY jump in performance.

GTX 480...

I mean the performance is obviously a later game, but it was incredible i got the performance i did out of the 480 even on ULTRA with 2xMSAA with a big overclock on the GPU.

The 4870 would not even be able to handle low at 1080p.
