F@H not wanting to use more than 60% of my CPU

First off, wow that title sucked.

 

Anyway, I just set up F@H on Athena (latest version, and Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1 x64), and it seems as though F@H doesn't wanna slam my CPU up against the wall. I have the number of threads set to 2, so in theory it should use up everything, but it is not. When it was set to let the program choose what to do, it only used one core. Intensity is set at full, BTW.

 

EDIT: Also, my 7950 sounds like it wants to take off right now.

Doesn't F@H reserve one thread for the GPU? Maybe it's overridden by the thread count set to 2 though

I think that was it, actually. I stopped it and then flipped it back on when the GPU was pausing, and it went to 100%.

I ran into a similar problem on my old pentium D system a year ago. You need at least 1 free core for GPU folding possibly more if you have multiple folding gpus. When I tried running both gpu and cpu 2 core folding on my old system my cpu ppd woul tank and only hit like 50ppd lol.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

I thought you were running Xubuntu (it was you, wasn't it?). How were you able to get an AMD GPU to work?

oh yea same thing on mine the gpu ppd was great but the cpu was bad and not worth the extra heat output in my situation.
