Depth of Field A5100 vs RX100M3

Hi I was wondering how image sensor size affects DoF compared to aperature?

 

The two cameras that I am looking at are the Sony A5100 which has an APS-C sensor vs the RX100M3 with a 1" Exmor sensor.

 

I'd rather not buy a new lens for the A5100 and the kit lens is pretty slow at f/3.5 compared to the really nice Zeiss f/1.8 lens on the RX100M3. However I am wondering if I can get the same DoF on the A5100 with the kit lens since it has a much larger sensor.
