Is this SSD worth it?

jam1234

Hi guys,

I was looking on the amazon Black Friday week deals in the UK.

I saw this SSD: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KW3MTBS?ref_=gb1h_tit_c-2_4667_2ff3de9e&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

I was wondering if it was worth picking it up just as a spare SSD to my 840 Evo. Or is it better?

I have no clue how good this sdd is just wondering if I should get it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KW3MTBS?ref_=gb1h_tit_c-2_4667_2ff3de9e&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Thanks in advance!

Wish I could afford to do giveaways for you guys, Sorry school doesn't pay me! <3

That seems like a pretty good deal. Kingston doesn't make the best SSD's (ESPECIALLY the V300) but for 30 pounds, that seems like a really good price.

It's good for the price. 35 quid is cheap for a HyperX Fury, I'd grab it.

Who told you that?

At regular prices, there are better choices for the money then a HyperX Fury. Including MX100 and SP610.

Ive seen stuff. Reviews, complaints, problems, etc...

Compared to other SSDs they seem to have a low number of write cycles, only about 3k.

Their speeds and iops are not the best either.

Then there is the data compression that they use for limiting the use of those few write cycles, which I personally do not like. It gives a false sense of space, since different types of data are more or less compressible.

Average ssd for a killer price. Your EVO is head and shoulders above it. Still, it's a worthwhile investment as a secondary drive though all the goodies that come with the EVO won't work with the it. What do you have to throw on it?

Sir William of Orange: Corsair 230T - Rebel Orange, 4690K, GA-97X SOC, 16gb Dom Plats 1866C9,  2 MX100 256gb, Seagate 2tb Desktop, EVGA Supernova 750-G2, Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3, DK 9008 keyboard, Pioneer BR drive. Yeah, on board graphics - deal with it!

Actually, fury is just a bit better v300 and nothing else (still has shitty nand and sandforce controller). Performance wise it sits betwenn v300 and 3k.

The 3k is also HyperX and I was referring to the 3k. Just forgot the name :3

The Fury isn't that great. Even ADATA's lowest end SP600 is better.
