Looking for a monitor.

SpagettiNinja

Hi, I am looking for some recommendations as to what monitor i should buy.

It would have to be 1920x1080, and preferably around 24''. Budget would be about $300, preferably a bit lower too.

I am looking for a good quality monitor for gaming use. There are just so many monitors out there, i really dont know what to pick.

Help is appreciated :)

Thanks.

I have two Samsung S24D590PL. I picked my latest one up for 250 dollars including all the taxes and environmental fees, it's also cheaper in America if you live there. A lot of people here recommend the U2414H on this forum, but it's over 150 dollars more for a slightly bigger gamut (range of colours the display can well display... not even noticeable to the naked eye) and it actually has quite a bit lower contrast ratio. Some grays, that are meant to be grey, will be black. Even Linus likes PLS panels more than IPS, which are made by Samsung themselves. Save the money, also lots of Dell's have a yellowness issue which looks terrible, both of my Samsung's are perfectly white. But if you need a height adjustable stand, the Dell U2414H would be a great option.

Seems like the Dell is on sale for 230 on Amazon.com

Found the Samsung for 140 and free shipping on Amazon.com also

Any more opinions? I am planning to use this monitor with a R9 290 or GTX 970.

I have a U2414H which I absolutely love. Colours are natural, but rich and vibrant. Games run great on it with my 970 :)

Hm, that has IPS. Although not a requirement, i would expect that it would look better. "Only" 60 Hz though, but does that matter much?

I think 60hz is smooth enough, and unless you game competitively anything more isn't needed. The colours are far superior to my old TN screen, much better for use in every regard.
