Hyper 212 Evo - 0.5/1mm taller

Laurysss

So my case's cpu coolers height limit is 158mm. The 212 evo is 159mm(or 158.5?). So my question is will the cooler be fine without the side panel of or the heigh of the cooler is going verticaly not horizontaly?

BTW maybe there are some better coolers for the price or that dont have this problem? Scythe coolers look good.

It's not better, but for cases where the Hyper212 doesn't quite fit, the Hyper T4 is a decent option. It's slightly shorter.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

The side panel on that case looks pretty flimsy so it shouldn't put too much pressure on the cooler when it's on. If it's only .5-1mm taller and touching the side panel it won't really be an issue as that isn't a lot.

@Rheinwasser @Lord Pantaloons well i wrote a mail to the stores manager if i could check if the cooler will fit. In my country they dont have the thing in the store you have to pay them and wait when the thing will ship to their store. And you have to pay first.

it will fit.

case manufacturers put in a little headroom so everything will fit.

I wouldn't say it fits with that argument. My case has supposedly 168mm clearance for coolers. U14S is 165mm. There's literally 2mm between case side panel and heatpipes. If the clearence would have been 164mm, it wouldn't fit.

But I think it will fit without the case's side panel off. Or the length of the cooler isnt going horizontaly?

It doesn't really matter which way cooler is. Heatpipes are pretty evenly on top of cooler. So unless case has some really significant outcurving panels, orientation isn't going to do anything.

If it doesn't fit, you can dent out the side panel or make a cut out.

It does but it's significantly cheaper too :)

Of course I only now noticed that you have an FX-8350BE so that won't work xD

he should just try it. he can still return it.

and he could bend his side panel a little bit.

And would it fit if i want it to blow are to the back of the case?

Our customer service in my country is not very good so I am not too sure about it. Next week when my car is fixed i will take the pc and try it there myself.
