I want to replace my GameCube joysticks

deewhylan

I'm wanting to replace my GameCube Wavebird joysticks, because they're getting kind of loose. And by joystick, I mean the stick itself, not the cap.

The problem is, I don't know what kind of joysticks I should get.

I could get 1 GameCube joystick for a little over $7: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-GameCube-Joystick-Potentiometer-10K-Thumb-Game-Repair-Replacement-/121417085989?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item1c4505b425

... Or I could get 10 Xbox 360 joysticks for a little over $15: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10X-Replacement-3D-Analog-Module-Joystick-Axis-for-Microsoft-Xbox-360-Controller-/301315526818?pt=US_Video_Gaming_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item4627ce10a2

I'm wondering if I can use the Xbox 360 joysticks on a GameCube controller, because they look pretty much exactly alike, it looks as if they would solder in exactly the same.

Thanks,

Dylan

I'd get the GameCube ones. They cost more per piece, but you spend less overall. Also, you could be taking a gamble with the Xbox ones--I didn't see any specs, and even if you return them you'd have to eat the shipping. Remember to buy a triwing screwdriver if you don't have one.
