First time buying a monitor

I'm thinking of buying this monitor www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VX239H/  my cousin said that 23" monitor is not ideal for gaming and other graphic stuff. He told me to get a 24" or 27"+ 

Should I buy it or buy a different monitor ?

I would go with a 24" monitor. It's really a preference, but most people use 24". What price range are you going for?

Are you wanting an IPS or TN monitor? The former, IPS display technology, is much better than TN in terms of viewing angles & colour.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.
