iClever USB 3.0 Dual Display Universal Docking Station with VGA, DVI and HDMI up to 2048 x 1152

MountainPro

Recently iClever sent me a review unit of their new USB 3.0 Dual Display Universal Docking Station, after hearing about the unit coming I did not think I would have much use for it because I was content on using my laptop screen but I made an honest attempt to implement it into my day to day use.

The first thing that I noticed which quickly came to help me in my day to day life was the abundant amount of USB ports leading off of the device. Currently my laptop only has 3 USB ports which is not terrible but I tend to use a lot of USB’s because I am constantly creating picture albums from a collection of photos from many different people. A week after having this docking station I got another assignment and was able to complete it in half the time it usually takes me, which saved me hours that I would have spent searching the drives for the best photos.

In light of this picture and video editing job I always used my laptop’s native display for this job, so because I had the ability now to connect an external display I connected my laptop to two other monitors. Having access to these displays allowed me to be able to drag and drop pictures with ease from window to window saving me time and energy when working to create my next presentation or video. Since that day everytime I get to my desk I instantly hook up my laptop to this docking station and mainly rely on the external displays for all the work that I have to do. The Adhesive backing to the unit also allowed me to “stick” it to the back of my monitor out of sight and the way of everything on my desk only exposing a single USB cord that I needed to plug into my laptop.

In conclusion iClever has really changed the way that I use my laptop and the speed at which I am able to complete my work and in my opinion, I also feel as though the quality of my work has also risen greatly. So for anyone reading this review, if you feel that this is not for you, I want to strongly urge you to take a look back at what you are doing and really think if you would benefit from more USB ports, easy connectivity to external displays, and seamless integration into your day to day life then I think that this product would be great for you. With the price currently being at only $90 (November 22 2014) I think that if you need or could benefit from anything that I mention above then I would strongly recommend picking one up.

Oh I'm sorry is this not the default color? It was just the first thing that came up when I began typing.
