What would be the symptoms of not having enough ram while playing?

well, i experience some delay when alt tabing between chrome and dota 2. switching from chrome and dota 2 usually takes up to 30sec- 1min. also even after closing dota 2 , some of my programs become unresponsive like the steam app and chrome. after closing dota 2 makes my computer super slow. it will recover after like 1 minute.

is my ram just bad? or it is my HDD. i use 4gb ram btw

Weird sluggishness and jitters, but most importantly, you'd see 100% (or next to) ram usage in the resource monitor. Check that.

Yeah look at your RAM usage. clearly you are running out of RAM. The general slowness is down to your computer using your page file (stored on the HDD) as sort of virtual RAM but MUUUUUCH slower!.

Im 100% sure thats your issue. Seems that you are using 97% of it.

SSHD's are not a bad idea either and will further speed things up :P

take the back off the laptop and read the label. Then do a good search on it :D.... Doesn't have to be the exact same RAM manufacturer just the same speed.
