Demand is high for the gamecube adapter for the WII U.

""Not a single store in Georgia has any," a local GameStop employee told me over the phone as I called about looking for the GameCube controller released with Super Smash Bros." says Mike from kotaku.  http://kotaku.com/smash-bros-gamecube-adapters-sold-out-online-prices-g-1662162871

I myself was looking for a controller because i'm a melee kid and the wii u controller doesn't feel right and on amazon its around $100 for the adapter alone! http://www.amazon.com/Super-Smash-GameCube-Adapter-Wii-U/dp/B00L3LQ1FI/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1416701567&sr=1-3&keywords=wiiu+ssb

the controller bundle is over $150 http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00M35YLLY/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all

No word yet when the stock will be replenished

what do you guys think of this?

I think this a great sign for nintendo and the WII U

Well that sucks for consumers, but I hope this is at least good for Nintendo.

I could buy 4 controllers right now if I wanted. The problem is getting the adapter. Originally Nintendo said both that and the LAN adapter would be available directly through their online store but neither are no where to be found.

Doesn't seem so, I'm guessing the one's benefiting from the mark-ups are people who are reselling the adapters at higher prices to capitalize on the demand.

Umm they are? The Wii pro controller is a great one... People just don't prefer it for smash . Also they have use the same controller for smash since gamecube so there is a bit of habit in there as well.

For me, I prefer the Wiimotes. I've tried the others but the Wiimotes are the most comfy and easy to pull off stuff
