Shadowplay is GPU hardware acceleration. Your CPU is 100% irrelevant really

Edit: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp43765kr Get this instead of the 660. This is better than the 660

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Well, no. It has CPU requirements. OP, I think your CPU is fine.

Yes an 860K would be perfectly fine.

Well, there's CPU requirements for GeForce Experience. But not for explicitly Shadowplay.

People have been locked out of Shadowplay because it didn't meet the CPU requirements. In the posted case, the CPU wasn't recognized, but simulates what I just said.

that screenshot above seems pretty explicit to shadowplay...

System requirements can be found here. There's a chart to gauge if your system will be able to handle shadowplay.

It is. If I go to Game Optimization, the CPU requirement is not displayed.

I know someone who uses Shadowplay with a 750K, so 860K will more then likely work.

don't let the fact that the Pentium is a dual core fool you overclocked it will walk all over a 860k even in heavily threaded stuff + you get z97 with the option for upgrades for years to come

+ a better gpu

OP the 860k is superior to the pentium in most games except a handfull of mmo's...and to use shadowplay youll need a 700 series nvidia gpu or better.
