my x99 build

     Hey guys, I have never posted my computer on any forum, but now that I have one that is worth showing, here you go.

I saved for a looooong time to afford this build, and it is the ultimate upgrade from my crappy old toshiba laptop.

 

This is completely overkill for what I am using it for, (gaming, photoshop, some video editing) but this is what i wanted.

 

The CPU

I went with the 5820k because I wanted to go x99 over z97 because it offered more pci-express lanes even with the lowest tier cpu. I can now upgrade to SLI in the future and have a M.2 ssd (or 2)

 

The Motherboard

The Asus x99 deluxe was the best fit for the form factor I wanted, the color scheme I was going for, and the features I wanted.

 

The RAM

Had to go DDR4  for this platform, G.Skill ripjaws 4 16gb 2400mhz seemed like the best bang for the buck at the time when I purchased it.

 

The GPU

The gtx 980 because... go big or go home!

 

The Case. 

I decided on the nzxt h440 after watching many reviews, but was never available in the color combination I wanted.... So I painted it. (Sorry, I didn't take pictures of the process).

 

The SSD

The Samsung 850 pro because my 840 EVO is starting to degrade in my laptop.

 

The Cooling

I swapped out the standard intake fans on the front with noctua industrial nf-f12 2000 rpm fans.  The rear fan was swapped for a corsair af140 quiet edition, and the fans on the h100i  were swapped out for corsair sp120 quiet editions.

 

 

Sorry for the photo quality, I probably should have taken the pictures with my wife's nikon d3200 (on the desk). Hopefully these pictures taken with my nexus 5 will be acceptable.

 

Please ignore the mess beside the desk in the last couple of pictures. i was putting an entertainment center together.

Thank you all so much for the feed back.  I was thinking about taking the graphics card apart and either painting the NVIDIA white or lightly sanding off the green because there is a white LED back light behind it.  But that will be much later  when I work up the nerve to take an expensive graphics card apart.

tipp: you can sand off the green color of the nvidia logo, that will make it look even more badass.

It is now. This was right after i first got everything set up.  My ethernet  cable was not quite long enough for me to put the tower on the other side.

Nearly all the new H440 builds have him getting very upset.
