Asus Sabertooth Mark S (aka Sabranco) up for pre-order on pccg with ~release date

Marvzl1357

Hey guys, I think this is news, no one else seems to have reported it and it's something I'm personally quite excited about.

So, remember this mobo people?

 2B.jpg

Yes, that beauty.

I was scouring the internet after I first saw this post: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/251901-asus-sabranco-motherboard-gets-a-new-name-and-more-likely-release/ and found nothing on the possible release dates of the board, that made me quite sad.

But now, it has a somewhat more definite release date and that is the 25th of November (although that's probably gonna change). https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=29810

BUT holy crap it's $419AUD (let's just say $420-blaze-it) and pccg has pretty internationally competitive pricing from my experience and so it probably will cost around $400 in the US.

So, sorry @2mnbars, I won't be able to deliver that build log  :( but I'm sure someone will

But for those of you looking for a white-themed motherboard, there's this beauty (msi z97s Krait edition) https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=29787 that is much more affordable ($175) and still pretty damn attractive imo.

Anyway, happy building and please please please if you get this motherboard, please do a white-themed build log for everyone to froth over.

Does this classify as news? it didn't come directly from a source, but it was news for me, and I thought it's worthwhile reporting it.

Hot damn, really? That's some intense shit there. In that case there's no doubt as to why it's expensive

Haha it's a bit of a stretch even with limited numbers if you ask me when you compare it to the $229 of the sabertooth mk2 or the $299 of the mk1 you'd have to be pretty stupid to spend that much extra on color alone IMO.

Well call me stupid, because I bought that baby and I'm not regretting it. All apart of my major PC upgrade

You're stupid...(I only said that because you asked me to lol) I guess if I were going to just waste money I'd not buy 1150 socket I'd rather use that extra cash to go 2011-3 and get something out of it even if it were something I'd not really notice. I have no problem spending a little extra to keep things looking good but not this much extra. I guess it's another reason why I've never considered a white build as it's just way to limiting on pretty much every component.

i look forward to see some cool builds with that motherboard, I have always been a huge fan of  sabertooth boards.
You just need some very specific Hardware to match colors or some skills with vinyl wrapping :)

Yeah I really thought about it. I had my eye on ASUS's X99-A and/or PRO, but the extra cost of DDR4 was a bit much and I wouldn't make use of the extra cores of the 5820K. I also thought of waiting out until Skylake micro-architecture, but I just couldn't wait. Also the 5 year warranty of the TUF components does help

Yeah the warranty is nice I also have a 5 year warranty on my MSI motherboard and its military grade components. Truth be told I just don't have enough cash to warrant spending quite that much on cosmetics nor being stuck with the limited number of white graphics cards and so on but I'm sure your build will look bad ass I'd be interested in seeing it when it's done.

@Glenwing. Just noticed that. Maybe the promotional picture is just edited?

Or they want all the money. If so, then they are really lazy.
