Closed Over Ear Headphones $150-$200

DT770 pro's are pretty good

My current gaming headset is breaking and I figured now is the time of year to look for legit headphones.  Unfortunately I don't have any knowledge of quality headphones.  Any suggestions for closed, over ear pairs around $150-$200?  I will use them for gaming and regular media consumption, nothing professional.

I'm quite fond of the bass from my x42's and that they're wireless and have large cups to fit even my huge ears. Wouldn't recommend them though unless you find a great deal like i did, (got mine for about 60% off new)

the ATH-M40x is a good headset with pretty good sound comp. If you can spend that much more for a M50x then hit that up. Both are good all around.\

EDIT: Had not realized the price on the tb x42 had dropped so much. Got mine when they were still 170+  bought mine for $200... I uh deeply regret that now... Don't be like me children!

Do you want lots of bass or a more balanced pair?

I could go either way, though I would imagine a little extra bass would be beneficial in some games.

This. But it is kinda tight when you first get it out of the box, so you need to stretch it out a little to make it lose a bit.

Or let it loosen up by itself from normal use and deal with the slight tightness at first.

Sounds like the DT770 pro are a good idea.  I am only using onboard audio on my maximus VI hero board as of right now so I think I will go for the 80 ohm pair.
