"Hey all you people that immigrated the legal way, go f*ck yourselves." was essentially what he said.

Not at all what he said. All of it was common sense.

a rehash of basically what Reagan and Bush have done. some people just don't see how right of center Obama is sitting

http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/20/politics/obama-immigration-bush/index.html?hpt=po_c1

the big difference between the 2 was that bush's speech was made before an election fishing for votes and this one is after if I remember it correctly

Last time I checked the right wingers did not support this plan.

I'm cool with it, congress did nothing he is entitled to do something. Though I'm pretty sure an executive order can be removed with out any issue.

Basically how it can work is that if this upcoming congress and senate decides to come up with a solution set in stone then what can happen is that his executive order can then be removed. Though I'm not sure how a republican controlled senate and congress will handle the situation I just hope they don't do what I fear them doing. (Basically giving the immigrants the finger) Because really what the immigrants who came here with out proper papers can get a chance to prove they know enough and are willing to learn or speak the language of the majority. I mean it kind of seems inconsiderate if you come into a country where the majority of people speak one language and you decide to speak your own because you're like self centered, I mean I guess it's okay if you're only visiting. I mean if I were to move to a country that doesn't speak French or English I would learn their language because well that makes sense to me at least.

Though I suppose to answer really what the deal is, is that basically it's providing sanction for those who came into the country with out coming in with the country knowing your entrance a background check will be done on those who wish to apply for a green card/citizenship and if they come back clean they can stay if they come back with any crime they'll be deported.

com·mon sense

noun

good sense and sound judgment in practical matters.

What I said was true, he just wants to create an easy way for all these illegal people to bypass the system and become citizens while giving a middle finger to everyone who did it the legal way dealing with the broken system for years before shit gets done.

Yes, because it is more practical to build a giant wall.

Because giving a middle finger to millions of people isn't jacked up.

I dunno how so many people can be so dense on this subject. For me it's always been a simple understanding of if someone is from another country, they are free to be in mine so long as they meet the following criteria: Migrate *legally*, learn the language of the country (I don't care what others claim to try to seem politically correct, the USA *is* an English speaking nation as its majority language), become versed in local laws/customs and basically be a decent human being. This is the kind of stuff a kindergartener could tell you, let alone someone in their late 20's.

As an American citizen , if I wanted to move to a country like Sweden, it shouldn't be the Swedish people's responsibility to cater to my every whim. I should learn the language before going and read up on their laws and so on. People who just enter into a country without so much as doing the basics deserve to be deported as they have zero respect for the locals.

Let's say you stand in line waiting for hours, you finally get to the front, and the people working at the store allow someone to just cut in front of you because they didn't want to wait in line. How would you feel. Or does your mind not comprehend this example?

"basically be a decent human being"

That's right, because the decent human thing to do to people who have tried to move themselves away from a drug infested life or a corrupt government is to send them packing because they? Didn't. Learn. English. Wow. This is why me and others enjoy the fact that we do not cater to the 'inherently racist' whims of the southern states. We should just give Texas back to Mexico for all I care, it's repulsive opinions like this that the rest of the country looks down on that State.

"People who just enter into a country without so much as doing the basics deserve to be deported as they have zero respect for the locals." Oh, I can't even. I can't. *sigh* Native Americans aren't in your textbooks are they?

I might actually move to Sweden someday since It's people don't seem nearly half as retarded as the ones in the United States.

I don't think you even cared to read what the President said...  at all. There's a need to prioritize deporting illegal immigrants that do harm to our country through crime and taxes than there is to people who have been here for years as lawfully abiding citizens with children who were born here. There's a need to actually pragmatically deal with the situation rather than break up families or build a giant wall.

Go and read it, you have eyes, hopefully you have a brain, go and read it. Or you can sit on the internet making stupid, false analogies that have no basis in reality. These actions don't harm legal immigrants by having them wait longer or giving them a harder time, you just seem to blinded by the need to wallow in hatred of anything the President seems to have said.

I could be blunt but the density of some people isn't worth the words of truth. First of all, I disagree with the President because he's an idiot on so many levels doing everything wrong, go ahead and disagree with me but I don't care. You don't know how the immigration system works, at all. What the President wants to do is essentially give amnesty to millions of illegal people. That is cutting in line to the fucking dot on my analogy. Ever seen an immigration building before? It's one massive line. People spend years dealing with bureaucratic bullshit of government workers just to get a simple process done. While all our POTUS wants to do is have millions of illegal people bypass the system to become legal citizens. How the hell would you feel if you did everything the legal way and someone just crosses the border and becomes a citizen almost instantly?

Disagree with me, oh by all means do it. But you'd be dead wrong.

Wrong. Flat out wrong. It's so wrong how much of a twisted oversimplification that is it's honestly sickening.

So I was right then, you didn't read it. You can't even take the few minutes to read what was actually proposed and then you have the audacity to call me dense. In this age of the internet, where you can access the information so easily, you just completely refuse it. Sickening. Just sickening.

Did you read it and read and read his other opinions for that past year and up? That's what he wants to do.

Did you read it and read and read his other opinions for that past year and up? That's what he wants to do.

Since you are inept, seemingly unable to click a link and read it there:

"First, we'll build on our progress at the border with additional resources for our law enforcement personnel so that they can stem the flow of illegal crossings, and speed the return of those who do cross over.

Second, I will make it easier and faster for high-skilled immigrants, graduates, and entrepreneurs to stay and contribute to our economy, as so many business leaders have proposed.

Third, we'll take steps to deal responsibly with the millions of undocumented immigrants who already live in our country."

"Now here's the thing: we expect people who live in this country to play by the rules. We expect that those who cut the line will not be unfairly rewarded. So we're going to offer the following deal: If you've been in America for more than five years; if you have children who are American citizens or legal residents; if you register, pass a criminal background check, and you're willing to pay your fair share of taxes -- you'll be able to apply to stay in this country temporarily, without fear of deportation. You can come out of the shadows and get right with the law.

That's what this deal is. Now let's be clear about what it isn't. This deal does not apply to anyone who has come to this country recently. It does not apply to anyone who might come to America illegally in the future. It does not grant citizenship, or the right to stay here permanently, or offer the same benefits that citizens receive -- only Congress can do that. All we're saying is we're not going to deport you.
I know some of the critics of this action call it amnesty. Well, it's not. Amnesty is the immigration system we have today -- millions of people who live here without paying their taxes or playing by the rules, while politicians use the issue to scare people and whip up votes at election time.

That's the real amnesty -- leaving this broken system the way it is. Mass amnesty would be unfair. Mass deportation would be both impossible and contrary to our character. What I'm describing is accountability -- a commonsense, middle ground approach: If you meet the criteria, you can come out of the shadows and get right with the law. If you're a criminal, you'll be deported. If you plan to enter the U.S. illegally, your chances of getting caught and sent back just went up."

The Internet is the first thing that humanity has built that humanity doesn't understand, the largest experiment in anarchy that we have ever had.
