GTX 970

Mr Yammy

Heyyy guise,

So I am going to upgrade to a GTX 970 on black friday, and I was wondering if there is a dominant or "better" brand that makes these.

EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI? Halp meh :P

p.s - My build color scheme is green.

Thanks!

Very useful info... thanks.

Be aware though that this is not limited to gigabyte's model at all. For example mine has 0 coil whine. It's luck of the draw

Don't worry about coil whine. It's not dangerous, it's merely annoying if it's severe enough. You cannot predict how bad coil whine will be or whether you will have it at all. I have never had it and I'm lucky in that apparently.

If it's incredibly severe you could try an RMA with the brand or just with the store you bought it from. It's luck of the draw and unpredictable and no brand is immune to it

I would get the EVGA acx 2.0 version for single cards. Better performance that standard and quieter. They also have an upgrade policy where if you register the card you can upgrade to any high tier card within 90 days and only pay the difference. The page is here.

Hmmm... maybe I should go with a 290x :P

Idk xD

290x's are good, but not as power efficient, cool and bleeding edge as a 970.
