Build For My Friend! Budget: $800 USD

My friend is looking to get a PC, I'm going to build it for him. He wants to play Skyrim at 1080p @ 60fps + with texture/graphics mods so a 4GB GPU would be great. His budget is $800 USD. He needs a keyboard + mouse, he doesn't have an OS. Color scheme is black. Mid tower, modular PSU, he doesn't want a lot of games so an average sized SSD instead of an HDD would be sufficient. Help me choose them parts!

It's a really close call. He needs to expand the budget a bit for it to work with room to expand

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

The difference between a K and non-K is negligible and getting a K allows the chip to be relevant and enough for longer at no extra cost

If he knows nothing about PCs then i dont think he needs the option to overclock (unless your willing to go help him every time he wants to change something) , so going with a non-k cpu and h series board would safe some money. Also, i would suggest getting about a 600w psu

No need for 600W. A 500W PSU will do fine.

 

Also he himself might not OC but the OP can do it for him. It's pretty easy to do a quick/dirty OC to about 4.2-4.4. H boards are often around the same price as Z boards so no point in saving that either, this allows for more expandability.

413 with an OC on the GPU in an unrealistic setting. It's more like 300-350 in your average gaming load meaning more than enough room for an OC. The PSU could be swapped out for the CX600 or CS550M though
