Just use plasti-dip. Don't permanently paint it.

But isnt ati-dip coating is to thick? I imagine that its a thick coating, so it might compromyze thermal propertyes?

no. the amount of heat these sinks recieve is not something to be really affecting your performance if the conductivity is slightly lower. because the deltaT has a bigger effect than a milimeter of plastidip :) #physics

I spray painted mine because I don't ever plan on doing anything with my current motherboard and it's out of warranty anyways. If you ever plan on selling or have warranty left on your motherboard use plasti-dip. Make sure you put it on in super thin coats though i.e. if it drips it's too thick.

Does plasti-dip is electricly non conductive?

Yes. Its basically liquid electrical tape

But does plasti dip compromises heat disapation? Since its plastic based, I think it might trap heat under neath it and dont let it to escape. Am I correct?

It's not a significant change, really.

And failing to act, for fear of the risk, is no different than a living death. No matter what world you’re in.

It will increase temperatures but not to any dangerous rate, I usually use the rule of them if more than 60% of a heatsink is to be painted or covered plasti-dip is to be used with some caution or paint as an alternative if there are any worries. There is however a product I've been looking into the change the color of metal heatsinks with no performance or marginal hit which is to use machinist marking fluid which is used for laying lines or scribing lines into a work piece but in an opaque black, the main cause for this is it's completely reversible by using some solvent. The only problem is souring a black colored machinist fluid since they are hard to come by.

Here's an example but in blue, it can be in pen form, paint brush, or spray can:

Can this be used on gpu water blocks as well? Or should I look at something.... less plastic?

yes it can be, you can literally use it on anything you want. The only thing it's not great on are things like mice/keyboards as they get handled too much.

how well does it stick at high temps?

Plasti-dip is resistant to temperatures of up to 100C, I would let it cure for atleast 24-36 hours before putting it to the extremes though.

last question, does the surface look glossy or Matt? Or can I somehow fix that myself?

It's a matte finish out of the can, but you can get a glossifier to spray over top get a glossy finish if that's what you want, just a side note you can get different textured finishes on plasti-dip by the way you spray it so you can choose from a textured sandpaper type finish to a smooth orange peel type look.
