Looking to buy a 1440p monitor in January

felixthemaster1

I scrapped the idea of going triple 1080p monitors (Partly due to the fact that my monitors were discontinued, and partly because triple screen gaming is old news) and decided to use a 1440P one in the middle as my main driver whilst having my current 2 monitors (LG23ea63) as aux displays on each side.

The current monitors I have are kind of short, so hopefully this  monitor can be adjusted so it isnt that much above these ones and I hope the bezels aren't that big. I'd rather get a sleek looking monitor than a 1ms 1440p 144hz professional monitor with 5 miles of bezels.

My budget is £400-480 ish

i was thinking of this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009668YPM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_img?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2GPOFUOWA7KVH&coliid=I3COWK2KP9JP0V

But this was cheaper and better looking. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LX2IW3G/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_img?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2GPOFUOWA7KVH&coliid=I1OY1NFDQ37D5V

...but obviously not as good.

Another to consider is the excellent Dell u2714hm. I think it's around £400 on Aria.

How about get a lg29um65 instead? It's not as wide a triple monitors but the picture quality is top notch and a single wider monitor will always be more immersive. I will never go back to 16:9!

"Instead" of what? a normal 1440p monitor? My housemate has the LG something wide screen 1440p monitor and it was £700, how come this version is a lot cheaper?. Plus I don't think I have desk space for a wide screen monitor and 2 monitors.

It's 2560x1080p Not quite as high resolution but still very sharp. I thought the 29" was too big for me view distance so I got the 25" version which has a higher pixel density than a 27" 1440p. And being that it's ultra wide I have much more screen space in game for field of view. Over here the 25" goes for $250. And I meant get one ultra wide with no bezels and ips screen vs 3 big bezel-ed monitors.

Typo, meant u2713hm:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-UltraSharp-U2713HM-PremierColor-Monitor/dp/B0091ME4A0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416619091&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+u2713hm

Fully height adjustable so you can get it to sit level with the others.

Looks pretty plain/ugly and it's very thick but I guess all the good 1440p monitors are like this. I shall put this in the hat, thanks.

I don't think it's any thicker than the PB278Q, by the way.

But it is plain, granted. I like that however, looks more professional/sleek that way.

Ye, I don't like the Asus one either, I like them slim like my LG23ea monitors (About 1cm thick panels) Also the proffessional looking monitors is not my taste. Also would look weird next to better looking monitors. Again, I don't have many options so I'll have to go for them.
