Gaming PC Build Help (1600$)

Hey Guys! I’m Sarthak. This is my first PC build (Inspired by the great Linus of course!). My PC budget is about 1600 USD. I should also mention that I’m from India and the pc components are about 20% costlier here. So please take that into consideration! So let’s get on with it!

Aim

So the main use of this PC is going to be:

·         Gaming (Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Counterstike, DOTA)

·         Web browsing (Multiple TAB)

·         Watching Movies

·         Light Photoshop

·         Light Video Editing

Monitors
JUST ONE. I have even finalized it. The LG 29” Ultra Wide Display running at a resolution of 2560x1080. Cost: 500USD.

Peripherals
I will need a gaming mouse and keyboard. Monitor is mentioned above. I have speakers already. A webcam will be required. I already own a genuine copy of Windows 8 so money saved there! :D

Why are you upgrading?
Simply because my present laptop (Dell N5010) cannot meet my needs anymore!

So lets move ahead to the part list:

PART LIST:

CPU: Not decided yet. Linus suggests the FX6300 (120 USD) but I’d prefer an Intel i7 based CPU.

Cooling: Corsair H40 – 80 USD

SSD: Samsung 840 series 120GB SSD - 80 USD

Hard Drive: WD Green 3TB – 60 USD

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 – 85 USD (I should mention that I need motherboard with WiFi/Bluetooth support)

Case: Coolermaster HAF 912 – 100 USD

Video Card: ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 - 450USD

RAM: Corsair Vengance (2x8GB) – 210 USD

Power Supply: Corsair CX430W - 80 USD

Please let me know your suggestions, and improvements if necessary and THANK YOU!

You guys rock. Peace Out

Hey! One tip is that you mention light video editing and what not, you'd be fine going with an i5 4690k. i7 might be a little overkill for what your doing. Also if your not going to OC you probably can save a little on going with the stock cooler or a hyper 212 evo.

Edit: I meant if your not going to OC, I changed it now xD

Thanks for the swift reply! :)
I will be overclocking it to some extent.

The thing is i can get an i5 4690k for 275$ and an i7 4770k for 320$.
What would you suggest? Everything else? Can this machine be game ready for at least the next say 3 years?

tbh don't know the diffrence in switches so I didn't include a keyboard + mouse. BTW I'd reccomend some 1ms response time, 144hz monitor as I understood that you will be doing fps gaming

I'd just change the PSU to the EVGA 750W G2 (EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR) and up the SSD to 240/256 GB, but otherwise sweet build!

Oh ok. Thanks mate. Seems like a perfect build ! xD

its not perfect   cooler, mobo psu are overpriced

212evo works fine, asus z97-a or gigabyte z97ud3h board provides all the necessary features, and 450-500w psu is sufficient

get asus z97ranger if there is not much price difference

You are overpriced. x61 is the best aio cooler right now. PSU is very, very cheap imo. I choosed that mobo becouse I liked it and it's not that overpriced (see asus rampage series)

i7 4790k + 212evo

i5 4690k + x61 kraken??

prices are very different in india. so this discounts given in american stores doesn't mater.add 20-30% on mrp and u get indian price ,provided that product is available.
