Recommendations for 120mm and 140mm case fans please.

Gdourado

Hello, how are you?

I am going to upgrade my cooling.

I am going to order a NZXT Grid+ controller and some new fans.

Since there are many models out there, I am looking for some recommendations for 120mm and 140mm fans.

I don't care about ultra quiet fans. I always game with headphones, so aroung 30-35db at full power should be fine.

I care about performance and ability to move airflow.

For aestethics reasons, I would prefer fans with red LEDs.

I am so far inclined to:

- 120mm - Coolermaster Jetflo.

95 CFM

36 dBa

- 140mm: Corsair SP140mm Red:

corsair-sp140-air-serie-fan-single-pck.j

50 CFM

30 dBa.

What's your thoughts?

Any better options?

Any 140mm red led fans with more airflow than the Corsairs?

Thanks.

Cheers!

The BitFenix Spectre Pro 140mm fan is quieter and has more airflow than the SP140. It does cost a bit more though. http://goo.gl/nEgK2X. As for 120mm fans, I would still go with BitFenix fans, I have a Red LED 120mm Spectre Pro fan and it's easily the quietest fan in my case while still moving quite a bit of air. I would recommend the Spectre Pro, but you could also go with the normal Spectre.

Nice! You could just change to the Red LED version if you want to stay with BitFenix.

The Spectre Pro 140 looks good at 87CFM and 23 dBa.

How is the static pressure if I was to use it on a radiator?

The 120mm version is weaker at 57cfm but it only does 19 dBa, compared to the 36 of the Jetflo.

On a Corsair air 540, to cool a SLI setup, would it be better two 140mm front fans like the Spectre Pro or go with 3 120mm like the Jetflo?

Cheers!

Aerocool ds 140 and 120mm fans

Those look good to. Both in 140mm and 120mm.

And I could have matching fans both in 140 and 120.

How do they handle radiator usage?

Also, another side note.

For a build with red and black components, would you recommend Red LED fans, White LED fans or no LED fans?

Cheers!

Red LED & Non LED fans will probably best suit your build. The Spectre Pro 120mm has a static pressure of 1.24 mmH2O, and the 140 has 1.38 mmH2O. I personally would go with 3 120's as you will have more surface area filled with fans (360mm compared to 280mm).

IMO spectre pro's are terrible

They're ok for the price, but Noctua's are the best when it comes to performance (for price) and durability, but in the looks department...not so much. ...but if you want pure performance, Delta's will surely dominate in that department, at the cost of noise.
