GALAX GeForce GTX 970 OC - Dual fan mITX GPU

Ren

Seems as though GALAX has come out with an ITX GTX 970 of their own without anyone noticing. No reviews as of yet but we can still take a look at specs and the general design of the card. Thanks to GALAX for giving us these ultra-high res pictures of the card. Mobile users may want to turn back..

What's your game?..

The actual card doesn't look bad. These fans are made to reduce turbulence but there is no saying how quiet it actually is until we get reviews. At least I can't find any..

Since this is an ITX graphics card, we will be comparing it to the 970 from my boys over @ Gigabyte, at least on a superficial level.

GALAX 970 mITX

GPU Clock: 1228/1380Mhz (Base/Boost)
Memory Clock: 7010Mhz (effective clockspeed)
Dimensions: 193/41.5/124.3mm - 7.1/1.5/4.6 inches (L/W/H)
Power: Dual 6-pin / 145W TDP
Price: $329.99 MSRP

Gigabyte 970 mITX

GPU Clock: 1076/1216Mhz (Base/Boost)
Memory Clock: 7012Mhz (effective clockspeed)
Dimensions: 183/43/129mm - 6.8/1.6/4.8 inches (L/W/H)
Power: Single 8-pin / 150W TDP
Price: $329.99 MSRP

Overall, the GALAX GPU seems to whip on Gigabyte's and that is cool to see. The size and power consumption are very similar, enough to ignore at this form factor for sure. But the GALAX GTX 970 OC here has a massive boost on the core clock over the reference 1050/1178Mhz clocks in comparison. The dual fans on the GALAX card, as well as the shroud design, may make it louder but I'll bet you it runs cooler and at a less aggressive fan curve.

Lastly, the PCB seems like they just chopped off the end of a reference 970's. It's kind of funny. (reference PCB / GALAX ITX)

Honestly, all of the 900-series GPUs from GALAX are looking phenominal. Huge shoutout to them, especially on their new website. Check it out at http://www.galax.net/. In other news, the 900-series Hall of Fame cards are still late as hell. They're losing points for that.

And to make matters worse, all they're doing on their twitter instead of filling users in on what's going on is linking to their HOF 980 page.. MRW.

How about you use spoilers for these super high res pics, us low bandwidth users don't like this.....

But damn that is a nice card, it kinda looks like it is just a baby twin fan GTX970

Interesting, not familiar with GALAX though.

It's what Galaxy changed there name to. I think they merged their brands from the us and Europe to one name.

Awesome, has a better OC than the gigabyte one and is the same price. Though the Gigabyte one is smaller so I guess it depends of the chassis of the person .

Impressive, very impressive.

My 980 is coming soon (step up just went through), but if I had a smaller system I would definitely have sold my 780 and got this instead.

That clock speed is extremely impressive.

RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RBG 3200MHz - GPU: MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO

My immediate concern is the noise level of those small fans.

I would rather have a single, larger and slower fan than a pair of small fast fans.
