Concidering Air Cooling my next cpu

Redliquid

Hi ladies and gents,

As the title says im concidering using air cooling for the cpu in my next build.
But i absolutley hate these big (but very effective) metall blocks i have to put on my cpu together with a fan, they look incredibly ugly

and i always use a case with a window simply because that's how i like it.

So right now im looking at

Zalman VS 2000 LED and VF 950 LED but im worried about their preformance under load,
I'm not planning to overclock but im trying to have a system that's reasonably quiet.

Do you guys have anny idea of how those two preform sounwise?

And / Or do you know of anny other pretty and not to big cpu air coolers?

Thanks in forehand :-)

atm i have a h100i in a Define R4 but it gets noisy during load sometimes

If you want performance and aesthetics go AIO, you pretty want a big tower/dual tower for air cooling that's good

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Are you sure the difference in peformance really is that big?

Well I see the tiny coolers lagging behind significantly.

Edit: What I meant was that if you want good air cooling you really need big tower/dual tower, not a tiny one like the one OP linked. They are really not as good as big air coolers.

The Noctua NH-L12 looks pretty good IMO, though the fans aren't really the prettiest things in the world...

Yeah this^

You could always change the top fan if you really wanted to.

CPU: i7 3770k@ 4.6Ghz@ 1.23v - GPU: Palit GTX 660ti - MOBO: Asrock Extreme 4 - RAM: Corsair vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz - PSU: OCZ 650watt - STORAGE: 128Gb corsair force GT SSD/ 1TB seagate barracuda 7200rpm

                                                                                         COOLING: NH-U14s/ 3x Noiseblocker blacksilent pros/ Silverstone Air Penetrator/ 2 corsair AF120s

dont really care to much about preformance, i want it to be as quiet as possible and as pretty as possible ^^

If it's 30 or 60 degrees celcius isnt that important to me tbh.

As long as it's not a big slug of metall just sitting there covering upp everything x)

My current setup got alot louder when i installed the H100i because i took the foam at the top off to install the rad and fans so im thinking of putting that back and....maybe getting a simple H60 in the back?

How do you get noisy h100i I don't get it almost everyone is complaining about that and my h100i is silent.

I have swapped the fans and run the pump on 90 %

By not having full controll of it in Corsair Link because the firmware is absolute shit.

I can only controll the color on the block. Everything else doesnt work and i've been back and forth with corsair support for more than a week untill i gave up on that.
