New GPU, need advice

I have just sold my r9 290x and want to buy a new msi gtx 970. But I am not sure what to do after I put it into my system and connected it. Can I just boot my pc, install the new drivers and deinstall the old ones. Or is there anything more I have to do or I should be careful with?

(My other specs:

AMD fx 8350

Noctua nh-d14 (also new)

4 120mm jetflo case fans

Asus m5a97 r 2.0

250 gb ssd

2 terabyte hdd

16 gb ddr3 ram

Be quiet 600w 80 silver plus

Bitfenix Shinobi

Yup, but you might have to run in safe mode. Keep that in mind in case Windows doesn't boot or something (unlikely).

You'll be fine. Turn on the pc, install the nvidia drivers. I don't recommend uninstalling the ccc from AMD since it is also needed for the chipset for your motherboard.

Simple process.  I installed a GTX 760 into my son's pc after he had a 7850 in it and all I did was put the GTX 760 into the pci-e slot and where the other card had been and booted into Windows 7 just fine not having proper drivers at all.  When I got into Windows 7 I downloaded the Nvidia drivers and installed them and then eventually removed the AMD drivers.  A very simple process.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S
