My mousepad is losing glide significantly in one specific spot

Element921

I have a Razer Goliathus Speed Edition mousepad, and I've noticed recently it's become very grippy in the center of the mousepad where I generally have my mouse. If I move my mouse to the edges of the mousepad it glides just fine. I haven't owned this mousepad for very long, I only bought it a couple months ago. Is there a way to fix this, or should I just get a different mousepad? (also, if getting a new mousepad is the only option, recommendations would be appreciated)

I myself have owned a Razer mousepad for a while now (Razer Vespula). I have not personally found this to be an issue. There are 2 things I think this might be. 1: if it's a hard mousepad, maybe it's become grimy, try wiping it down with a wet paper towel? (can probably do the same thing with fabric-y ones, just need to let them dry). 2: If it's fabric based, maybe it's wearing through to the grip-y side. If it is this, it might be time for a new mousepad.

I don't know though, those are my theories that you can try out.

If you do end up having to replace it, I would say either go with just about any hard mouse mat, but if that doesn't fit your needs, go with the Razer kabuto. The Kabuto is durable, and portable. If you find that too small for you however, the Steelseries QcK should do the job!

Hope I helped!

It's fabric based, I guess it's just wearing down. Same thing happened with my old Corsair mousepad, maybe it's just an inherent issue with soft mousepads.
