I have a steelseries diablo III gaming mouse (it was on clearance).  If I wanted to, i could make left click volume up and the dpi switch button volume down just by using the program that came with the mouse.

So yes, most programable mice will allow you to do this.

You can just program the buttons on the mouse if it is able to be programmed. I have the DPI toggle switches on my G402 from Logitech as play and pause in my music application.

What do they know of England, who only England know?

assign the scrool wheel to volume?

or I using a Roccat tyon? it have some kind of side toggle instead of macro button so you could actually assign that as volume,

that's only my idea, never tried that either

good luck m8 :)

I recommend getting a Razer mouse and using their free Razer Synapse program to configure any of the buttons (dis-cluding click buttons) to control many things, including sound. If you really don't want one of their mice though, I Believe Steelseries and GAMDIAS have similar things.

Hope I was of help!

Roccats mice with EasyShift would be optimal for that kind of setup. You can still have left anfd right click plus wheel acting as normal and then when using EasyShift, you get volume control.
