Well I Switched to Android

xCloneECKO

So I've dumped my iPhone and got an HTC One M8 GPE, and so far I love it, but since I'm new to the Android crowd can anyone recommend me some useful apps I can add to make stock Android more functional?

IFTTT is love,IFTTT is life... Really just download it

A flashlight toggle

Put widget to make everything more accessible

Auto Rotate Switch

Drippler so you can find more apps

That is all I can think.

Well their are something called Launchers that adds some functionality to Android and allows user to customize to their personal want and needs

One I highly recommend is Action launcher

Other launchers I have used that did the job was Nova Launcher and Apex Launcher..

Heard good things about goLauncher, but never liked it myself...

An app called Link Bubble is useful...allows you to open links without ever leaving the app by having a pop-up window showing the website...

Sunrise is an interesting calendar client

Talon is a great twitter client

Blue Mail is a great email client for non-gmail based email..

Nova Launcher, Tasker and/or IFTTT, Dashclock, Pushbullet, adopt Hangouts if you're around your desktop/laptop frequently, Cerberus. If Twitter is your thing, Talon or Fenix.

Cerberus: Very powerful device protection & detection tool; can even survive factory resets if you flash it with root. Also functions without internet via SMS.

DashClock: Basically notification center without revealing things 'too' personal for the lock screen and/or home screen.

Hangouts: Basically iMessage, but accessible from any device with the internet & your Google login.

IFTTT: If _thing_ then do _thing._ eg. If it's <35 degrees Fahrenheit, text my wife, "Wear a jacket today!" or: "If it's raining, send a tweet saying "It's raining... I love rain."

Nova Launcher: Home screen management / etc, with much more customization than Google Play Experience (the default on GPE devices).

Pushbullet: Push notifications to your desktop (that uses / has the extension or application installed.) Can respond to texts, or just let you know what notification is going off.

Tasker: More device-oriented than IFTTT. Can set it up to do things like "If I'm connected to this cell tower, disable my lock screen." or "If I'm connected to this Wifi, disable mobile data."
