New Android smartphone

rGhost

Hello !

I need a new phone as my curent one (lg optimus one) sucks really bad (it was launched in 2010 so fair enough) and I can't  use it for more than calls/messages and some music. Now my budget is not that big so I'm looking to the mid-range phones. The models I'm looking at are the Moto G (2nd Gen) and the Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo and I don't know what to choose. Moto is slightly bigger (5.0 inch vs 4.8) and thicker. For the camera, the S3 shots at 1080p compared to 720p on Moto. Also, the CPU is slightly faster on the S3 with 200 MHz and it has 500mb more RAM. Here in Romania the S3 I can currently get the S3 for less but is it a good choice ? I don't really like the design and so many people have S3 / S4 that I'm kind of tired of this design and the physic button from the bottom of the phone. I know that the Moto only comes with a USB cable without any adaptor or headphones. Another thing is that Moto already has 5.0 Android so... what should I choose ?

What in bloody hell, Samsung re-released the S3 with a modern chipset and called it the S3 Neo? Why are they so desperate to keep selling S3s?!?!

Moto G any day.

But the S3 has better specification, doesn't this fact make it better / more futureproof ??

The only thing it does better is the camera, aside that it's same specs as the Moto G, but it looks stupid in public cause you're using a 2 year old phone.

But Touchwiz is a deal breaker, it's a huge resource hog and slowdown compared to the tiny addons to stock Android that Motorola did with the G. You'll also get guaranteed Android updates for a while with the Motorola, it's unknown if the S3 Neo will get Lollipop.

Well, after all I've ordered the Moto G. Can't wait for it to arrive and see how it works. I'll post an update here for sure.
