Playstation 4 Hard Drive Upgrade

Which would be an ideal hard drive upgrade to replace the stock HDD that was pre-installed with the PS4; a larger capacity mechanical hard drive (i.e. any 1TB HDD), or a hybrid drive (i.e. Seagate 1TB SSHD)

From the homework I've done, the sshd seems to be the more practical and reasonable choice, but other forums and comments from Youtube mention that the Seagate sshd isn't as reliable as a WD hdd. However, the Seagate sshd is the only sshd that has been precisely repeated over and over again that most (if not, all) reviews seem to use in their analyses of deciding which hard drive is optimally ideal for upgrading the stock ps4 hdd

:D

TLDR: Is the Seagate 1TB SSHD a great choice for upgrading my stock PS4 hard drive? Are there any other hybrid drives (SSHD) out there that I can use in the PS4? Any recommendations?

I'm not sure is PS4s would even benefit from a SSHD.

Keep in mind that swapping your HDD would result the invalidation of your HDD.

consoles dont have optimization for utilizing the faster controller, speed, cache with an ssd. That being said you get better performance but it should be faster then it is.

I don't think you should bother with any kind of ssd hybrid or standard as the consoles do not take advantage of ssd's. You will get only the slightest improvements from them.

Really, do they not have that? Lol. I guess they don't really need it though.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Prob best just going with the highest capacity 7200rpm drive that fits inside the ps4.

The PS4 can actually make use of the SSHD. It will store stuff you use often on the cache, which makes it load quicker. So if you play a certain game a lot, a big deal of it's files can be placed in cache, and get you faster loading times as well, and may improve texture streaming.

SSHD, if you really need that extra space.

An SSD is the really only worthwhile upgrade, because it increases speed dramatically.

I use a Seagate 1tb SSHD on my PS4 and I notice the difference and so do the people I play with, they often joke about hearing me jump on my Speeder in destiny and drive off while they are still loading.
