Triple Sli worth it?

I was planning to get a motheboard that suppots triplesli and was planning to get https://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/evga-motherboard-142hre977kr and use 970 for now as i am currently playing at 1440p but i want to add 1 more 970 next year and another one the year after to support 4k and to give around the same power of the 980 sli at a lower cost

Z97 CPUs only have 16 pcie expansion lanes, and each nvidia card needs at least 8, so the max you can have is 2 in SLI unless you get a X99 motherboard. Edit: I think that 3SLI will still work on the Z97 but will preform worse than a X99

It really depends... but generally, above 2x SLI scale not very well with many games, some games like Tomb Raider support SLI really well, but most don't after 2 cards at best, Linus made a video about this a while back, as I remember.

I'd say triple SLI isn't really worth it, in my opinion.
