Triple Sli worth it?

I was planning to get a motheboard that suppots triplesli and was planning to get https://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/evga-motherboard-142hre977kr and use 970 for now as i am currently playing at 1440p but i want to add 1 more 970 next year and another one the year after to support 4k and to give around the same power of the 980 sli at a lower cost

You have to consider the fact that not all games are optimized for SLI configurations. 

CoD: AW being an example.

In short, no, triple SLI is not worth it. The only reason to go triple SLI is if you're doing something insane like gaming at 5k resolution.

things are only worth it if you have the money to blow and value is not really important. If you want to blow the cash for some extra horsepower go for it but if you prefer performance per dollar then dont.

It was originally unsupported.  -_-

I guess Nvidia adds support for SLI and such later than.

With triple sli you will run in to lots of problems, also 3x the cards does not mean 3x the performance. If you want the best performance go with less but better cards.

@Ryan Leech actually has Tri-SLI and can clue you in on some of the shortcomings unlike pretty much anyone who has posted who only knows what they have heard.
