LG Widescreen compatibility?

marc23

Hey there,

I'm contemplating buying a LG 29UM65-P 29IN Widescreen LED 21:9 in the hopes that it will increase my productivity and look nice on my desk. I guess 1080p is not cutting it for me anymore; I'm too good for it.

Joking aside, my current computer has an AMD A10-5800K installed, with no dedicated GPU.

I was wondering whether or not it'll be able to support the LG monitor using its integrated GPU core.

Also, would I be able to run another 1080p monitor along side with the LG one? My motherboard only has 2 video outputs so I'm limited to the amount of monitors I can have.

I will not be gaming what so ever.

Let me know what you think, or if you have any advice.

Thanks a bunch,

Marc.

Mostly spreadsheets and such. I use programs like MatLab, Photoshop, and some others. Nothing too crazy. Screen real estate is a must in the work I do.

Ahh okay. Nice! So a 21:9 display would obviously be beneficial to you then? :)

Yessir! But as humpingpandas said, it'll require Displayport or Dual-Link DVI. HDMI only supports 1920 x 1080. My motherboard does only supports HDMI and VGA :/

Hmm...then it looks like you'd have to either upgrade your motherboard or buy a dGPU unfortunately. :(
