Cryorig?

Spev

http://www.cryorig.com/h5-universal.php

I was looking at this product, there is also a R1 ultimate, but I'm not really in the market for a double tower heatsink, they are overkill IMO and I definitely don't need double tower. I will probably go push/pull on a single tower. Currently in my rig I have a Noctua NH-U14s, but for my new build I have been banking on the BeQuiet DarkRock3 (not Pro3).

Why is there like nothing on the internet for Cryorig? I like to read review and see feedback before I buy a product...this seems to be their single tower heatsink, it is very attractive and have 100% ram clearance which is also a great plus. I just don't see any YouTube videos or reviews, and can't even find it on Amazon.

Just wondering if anyone has had experiences with the products, they don't seem very popular.

Edit: Their mounting system also seems pretty nice, similar to Noctuas. I am a bit worried because I have heard BeQuiet's mounting system is a pain in the ass. I don't really mind a painful install, as long as it's solid and works well.

I'm buying an r1 ultimate, but then I'm gonna buy the slim fan that goes on the universal, so I can have the black plastic bits.

:D

The products have really good reviews from what I've seen online, but other than a few reviews here and there I haven't seen much

The cryorig coolers.

The dark rock 3 is a good cooler. I'm going to pick one up when I can.

Do you know the difference between the R1 Ultimate and Universal?

Also why is there like nothing online for these products, why are they so few?

The only difference is the color, and the fan that gets used on the front.

The universal has a 13mm fan on the front and white plastic bits, and the ultimate has a standard 25mm fan on the front with black plastic bits.

The universal uses a slim fan to not interfere with ram what-so-ever, whilst the thicker fan on the ultimate covers the ram.

Yeah, I'm just trying to explore all the option. I just think double tower heatsinks are overkill...and I like to see my ram and stuff in my PC. The DarkRock3 is my current choice, but I saw these and really liked them.

I just don't get why they are not so popular. Maybe they are new or something?

You'll still see the ram with the universal because of the slim fan.

That's why I'm getting the ultimate, then buying the slim fan separetly, so it'll match my build and I can still see my Corsair Dominator Platinums :)

I'll probably put the other fan on the back, and have 3 fans on it.

It's over-kill for the average everyday user IMO, but my 4790k does 5 ghz, so having this cooler will let me do that 24/7 without issues with temps like I have on my 212 evo right now.

I'd get the universal, but it won't match my color scheme: (Speaking of which I need to paint my pci-e covers)

Yeah, I haven't ever owned the 212 but it seems great for most people. I'm going to be picking up the 4790k as well, probably with not quite a big overclock though. I'm just trying to really find the best cooler for my new rig. Noctuas are great but I'm also focusing on looks...

So you are getting one of these? & I see what you mean now, even their double tower heatsink has full ram clearance, that is really impressive, although I still don't think I will personally get a dual tower. Have you owned one of their products before?

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I can find their H5 (single tower) cooler anywhere on Amazon or Newegg...:(

Never had any of their products before, but it looks great.

They're the first people I've ever seen to off-center the dual tower heatsink to one side, providing ram clearance because of it.

That alone gets them my vote :).  Such a simple solution for such an issue IMO, IDK why nobody has done that before.

I should be buying it shortly, (I updated my post BTW, not sure if you saw)

I noticed their products appearing on PC Case Gear the other day, look really good and seem reasonably priced (not cheap, but reasonable). I'd get one if I had/do a tower build.

Yeah I saw, nice rig buddy :)

Also I noticed on their Facebook page that it said the H5 was a September/October global launch...so it should be out but maybe it's just not ready to retail websites yet to ship. Not sure. But tbh I might consider the double tower...it's HUGE...but it looks like it goes towards the back of the case, compared to the side where the ram is...that is very nice I agree. I don't like the BeQuiet DarkRockPRO3 cause you literally don't even see your ram....and you also have to make sure it's low profile.

I am probably gonna get some Dominator Ram too, so I want to make sure it fits, and ofc so I can see it :)

I am still considering BeQuiet, but I'm going to do some more research before I make my choice.

Also, here is an interesting article with some benchmarks: http://www.tomshardware.de/cpu-cooler-cpu-kuhler-dual-tower-kuhlung-cooling,testberichte-241611-9.html

The H5 has been launched in Europe for a good one or two months already.  There's stock heading to the US, AU and UK as we speak, and all should be ready for purchasing around at the end of the month.

Hmm...do you have a source on this?

Also do you own Cryorig products? Just curious on your opinion.

@Steve CR

You seem to be a good person to ask, do you know if the white part on the H5 has a shiny or matte finish to it? I'm looking to match the finish of the white Enthoo Evolv.

Kinda semi-gloss looking at the install video on the product page. Should work quite well.

@Spev , I bought one of the cryorig r1 ultimates, and the slim fan that goes on the universal, so the fan won't cover my dominator platinums.

I'll let you know how it is on friday when it shows up.
