@connorpiper Are PS4s really that bad?

You could wait it out, but again there is the rumored "PS4 Slim" and a new XBONE with upgraded hardware so...

If you're fine without a controller, just sell it and build a damn PC.

Rumors are that the PS4 is the more powerful hardware so if you find the PS4 laggy I can't say you will be happy on the other side of the pond either.

No, it's really smooth and the OS works very nice. There is never crashes or errors.

Even in intensive games you can't see stutter or frame lag.

I'm sick of all these people saying buy a PC and all this shit. He probably has a PC and has consoles too, not uncommon.... And even if he's strictly a console gamer I'm sure he knows the benefits/perks of PC gaming otherwise he wouldn't be on this forum.

Anyway.... OP, if you think the PS4 is buggy and unsmooth then you're WAY worse off with an Xbox One, the Xbox is so slow even to navigate the main dashboard, it is a freakin' joke. If you want to do it for the exclusives too then I guess think it through properly and see if the Xbox will have more exclusives you think will like than the PS4 (Personally I prefer the PS4 exclusives). I strongly recommend you stick with the PS4.

I've got an Xbox One. I bought it so I could play some GTA and Halo with my buddies from work as they don't have PC's. It's slow and controller input is laggy. There are some good exclusives for this holiday season but it won't last. While the price cut right now is great and having the Kinect to use your voice to navigate is great, I still don't recommend getting one.

I don't seem to be experiencing any of the lag with my xbone that others do. I only got it to play halo and forza so it doesn't see that much use anyway. Most played games are Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2.

I can tell you that it's not very different on the Xbox One.

Apps crash often, the UI is annoying and slow. If you want some of the exclusives you should wait. There will be more next year (with only a small selection of titles that are worth it) and with the Master Chief Collection being the buggiest and most broken piece of shit that I've ever seen it could be fixed by that time.

144Hz goodness

If you don't have a gaming PC work towards that, if you have one and still want a console get an Xbox One. I've always liked Xbox more than PS since pretty much 06...just my personal opinion. Games are better and multiplier is far better.

Current PC build: [CPU: Intel i7 8700k] [GPU: GTX 1070 Asus ROG Strix] [Ram: Corsair LPX 32GB 3000MHz] [Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A] [SSD: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB primary + Samsung 860 Evo 1TB secondary] [PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 750w 80plus] [Monitors: Dual Dell Ultrasharp U2718Qs, 4k IPS] [Case: Fractal Design R5]

Remember when the 360 and PS3 came out the games were not all that great and "advanced?" Well with time there will be more great games that can really take advantage of the consoles.  IMHO I would just keep it and continue playing. I love playing on consoles because its what all my friends play on. Thats my opinion at least. If you just play by yourself its really no fun :/

I don't think XBOX ONE will be much better. Maybe a gaming PC if your friends play on PC too.

I wouldn't, doesn't make sense. You're basically throwing money away in order to move to a different platform that is more-or-less the same deal anyway. If you were saying this was about being more interested in the games the XBOne has? Then sure, maybe. If it's about the UI? I wouldn't bother. I got a Wii U at launch and for the first year it was pretty average in terms of its UI. Load times between menus were horrible and there were fairly regular crashes when loading some games. Eventually they sent out updates and now I don't have any of those issues.

As for the people going "PC Gaming Masterrace". Well ok, sure, I have zero interest in the XBOne/PS4 either for the same reasons. I don't really understand the appeal of a box that doesn't run any games I want that will eventually come to PC. However it's not all roses on PC. System crashes and instability? I've had more issues with Windows 8 than I have ever had with any console. Hell, I still have issues with Windows 8 even though it has been out for quite a while.

What do you mean buy buggy and unsmooth? Could it be your specific model, so you could just call up Sony? Or if it is the U.I in general, would tough it out for steam-machines to be available. (I have a huge bias against Microsoft.)

EDIT: Also, could be your display, are you on a TV?
